Frequently Asked Questions
What is the typical duration of a coaching session?
Our standard coaching sessions are designed to run for 45 minutes. However, recognizing the diverse learning paces of children, some may have attention spans that necessitate brief breaks, extending the session closer to an hour. Initial sessions may be longer, but over time, as a comfortable rhythm is established, they tend to become more fluid and efficient. Our primary aim is to maintain a 45-minute duration.
Is coaching conducted virtually or in person?
While in-person sessions are preferred, especially for younger students within the Bergen County, NJ area, virtual coaching is also a viable option. We make diligent efforts to accommodate in-person sessions for local students, recognizing that not all towns in Bergen County fall within our travel radius. Virtual coaching has proven successful, particularly for high school and college students.
What is the structure of a typical coaching session?
No two coaching sessions are identical, as each student presents unique needs, abilities, strengths, and challenges. Generally, our sessions involve a structured plan and routine, including a review of goals from the previous week, adjustment of strategies, troubleshooting, and addressing current work issues. In instances where current challenges are resolved, we delve into a series of lessons focused on executive function skills and their practical application. Each session concludes with the establishment of specific goals for the student to work on in the upcoming week.
