ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Kristen Brazofsky, but my students know me as Ms. B, which is also the inspiration behind the name of my executive function coaching business. I am dedicated to helping students develop essential executive functioning skills that empower them to manage their academic and personal lives more effectively. My approach focuses on providing practical strategies and support to help students achieve their full potential. As one of my students once said, I share the keys to mastering executive functioning and managing life.
A little bit about my career:
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at the University of Scranton and my Master’s degree in Special Education at the New Jersey City University. Additionally, I earned a certificate in Early Childhood development at Middle Tennessee State University.
I’ve been an educator for 25 years, teaching elementary school, high school and special education. Professionally, I have been writing curriculum and teaching students across various content areas and at many levels for 20 years. One area I particularly enjoy teaching is the importance of executive functioning skills, self-motivation and personal development. About 15 years ago I realized there was a growing need to teach students executive function skills in isolation and created an 8th grade class to do so. Later, I started coaching students, privately, and have seen success in working with them on an individual basis. I coach them to become more self-aware and implement strategies in order to strengthen skills that apply to their specific daily routines, workloads, work spaces, schedules, materials and stress levels. Just as every person has a unique personality, students have different learning styles and preferences for organization and resource management. I coach to meet their strengths but also to challenge, and build up areas of weakness.
About Our Team:
In recent years, especially since COVID-19, there has been an increased demand for student instruction in executive functioning. As the need for support grew beyond what one coach could handle, I began reaching out to the best educators I have worked with throughout my career. I selected individuals who demonstrated strong executive functioning skills and who could build relationships with students that fostered motivation and growth. I sought educators with specific credentials in special education and diverse talents in working with students across different grade levels and subjects. I feel blessed and proud to have, what I consider, a “dream team” of educators and professionals working with me and we are continually growing. We work collaboratively to support one another, as well as students, parents, and families.
As coaches, we consider ourselves to be the client’s personal cheerleader. We work collaboratively to create goals in order to learn new skills. We consistently work towards these goals, together, to achieve success over time. We strive for students to become independent and confident. The student’s strengths are used as the foundation for future skill building. As a result of coaching they also develop the key life skills of motivation, persistence and resilience.
On a personal note:
My experiences as a student, educator, parent, and individual have deeply influenced my approach to coaching and our business. I am passionate about personal development, understanding the brain, and finding ways to instill motivation, self-confidence, and a sense of purpose in others. This drive leads me to continually read, research, and explore new strategies for effectively teaching and coaching children and young adults.
I also have a deep appreciation for physical activity and the outdoors. I believe that engaging in physical activity, practicing mindfulness, and spending time in natural environments are essential for enhancing and strengthening executive functioning skills. As the parent of a college student who has grown up in a digital age, I am particularly committed to helping people navigate the challenges posed by technology, education, and society today. My goal is to empower clients, parents, families, and students to thrive in this ever-evolving world.

TESTIMONIALS

“We haven’t had a school induced breakdown in a while now. I was out of town this week on a business trip and my daughter had a big exam to prepare for, on her own. She did everything independently! I also noticed that she now recognizes when she is falling off task and needs to shift her focus.”

“Ms. B helped our son develop systems to stay organized, develop communication skills and accountability. She went over Google Classroom to ensure he wasn’t missing assignments, a task that caused much stress in our household over the years. When it came time for final exams they developed a study plan together so that he wasn’t overwhelmed. He had the best academic year yet! Ms. B was essential to his success. Hiring her was a life changing decision for our family.”

“I don’t even know where to begin praising Ms. B. She pours her heart all into every student and has given my daughter so many tools and resources to work with. She’s extremely knowledgeable yet continues to seek out more to support her students. My daughter does not like to be helped, but looks forward to Mrs. B coming to see her every week. To me that says everything.”

“My 6th grade daughter was struggling to manage her time and organize assignments, leaving her feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, midway through the school year . I reached Ms. B Key as I recognized my daughter would benefit from executive functioning coaching . We were connected with Julia Palozzola from the initial phone call Julia was compassionate and attentive. She was able to schedule an in person session quickly, and instantly connected with my daughter. From the first session my daughter felt heard, and understood . Julia provided her with some very simple strategies to begin implementing. Since she has been working with Julia, my daughter is less overwhelmed, and has a better understanding about how to approach her assignments. She looks forward to meeting with Julia each session.”

“Ms. Kristen Brazofsky can be a ray of sunshine cast into the darkness of any child’s challenges with organization, planning, goal setting, impulse control, and/or multi-tasking. I have a son with ADHD who not only struggles with Executive Function Disorder but also has a resistance to assistance. Fortunately, Ms. B. was able to connect with him in ways that many could not. Ms. B. is not only talented but also dedicated and persistent. She never gave up on my son, and her tailored approach sparked commitment from him and produced lifelong outcomes and understandings for him.”

My son was experiencing issues with time management and disorganization. Ms B. helped us both. She worked with him (and me) to create new habits. She developed a rapport with my son that allowed him to be receptive to her suggestions, while also being independent enough to make his own decisions and to take accountability for his actions. There is an ease with working with Ms B. She was relatable to both my son and me. New List Item
